What is projectART?
projectART is a nonprofit supporting art programs in Wimberley schools. We are picking up the torch from Arts from the Heart by providing art supplies, supplementing the arts budget for all five schools, and offering extracurricular art opportunities for kids. Our founding members include art teachers and parents who believe art is an integral part of a child's development.
What is projectPROM?
Our first fundraiser, projectPROM, will take place on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at the Wimberley Community Center. Guests can walk the red carpet and dance to a live band followed by DJ Strange (our very own school board trustee, Ken Strange). Expect fun music and attire representing everyone’s favorite decades. Enjoy snacks, cocktails, beer, wine, a photo booth, silent auction, and a raffle for prom queen and king. We aim to engage the whole community in a fun way to build support for the arts.
How will donations to our event or organization be used?
100% of the proceeds from projectPROM will go to the arts budgets and will provide extracurricular arts opportunities for students in all five of Wimberley’s schools. We are in an era where our public schools are being asked to do more and more with less funding, which often has detrimental effects on the arts. With your help, projectART will supplement supply budgets, purchase a kiln for Jacob's Well Elementary, fund after school art classes, display student art throughout town, and fund art teacher professional development opportunities.
